I have a Sony Vaio Model VGN-CR420E that was recently updated from Windows Vista Home to Windows 7 Professional. My laptop is a 32-bit. I've donwloaded all the respective drivers from the, in an attempt to get my hot keys to once again, function and upon attempting to install the drivers I get error prompts constantly telling me 'This Update Can Only Run On Windows Vista'. Comically enough, some ran fine, others do not!

I presume you installed the windows 7 drivers from the sony website, right? If yes, why are you trying to installing vista drivers in compatibility mode? I checked the sony website and see that windows 7 drivers are available for the model you've specified. Alternatively, try installing the drivers in vista compatibility mode (NOT SP1 or SP2) and see if that fixes the issue. (It did make a difference on my Dell laptop when there were no windows 7 drivers. Installing in SP1 and SP2 mode proved futile) Ideally, Sony should release drivers that are compatible with windows 7. Get in touch with them and see if there are any updates.

I'm trying to install Windows 7 drivers, which comically enough, will NOT install in Windows 7 environment. I've tried your recommendation, hence why I made this post, apparently I wasn't clear and agree - Sony's drivers are probably the problem, but I'm not sure if it falls on Sony or on Windows 7 (aka Microsoft). I'm sure like everything else, fingers will get pointed in both directions and I'll just have to deal with the problem.
